The second stop of the National Pickleball League (NPL) and Pickleball Australia’s Community Cup Series takes place October 9-11, 2026, with Mooloolaba Tennis Club staging three days of social and competitive pickleball.
Delivered by Pickleball Australia and the NPL, in partnership with Tennis Australia, the event follows the opening round in Gawler, South Australia. The series is designed to give amateur players access to organized competition and a professional-level tournament experience, while maintaining a strong community focus.
The Mooloolaba event is open to players with a DUPR rating below 4.5, covering beginner, intermediate and intermediate-plus levels. Competitions will be divided by skill: Beginner below 3.0, Intermediate below 3.5 and Intermediate+ below 4.5 as well as by age, with Opens and Masters 50+ categories available.
The weekend’s structure is intended to create balanced matches and make the tournament accessible to everyday players at different stages of their development. Entrants will be guaranteed at least three matches across the competitive draws.
The weekend will begin with a Friday Night Social, running from 6pm until approximately 8pm or 8.30pm. Teams of four, comprising two men and two women, will compete in a relaxed format that will not count towards DUPR ratings. Live music, food and drinks will be available, and teams are encouraged to wear club colours.
Gender doubles will follow on Saturday, with separate men’s and women’s competitions progressing from round-robin play into single-elimination rounds. Knockout matches will be played to 15 points, with teams required to win by two.
Mixed doubles will conclude the program on Sunday, following the same emphasis on structured competition and accessible participation.
